“Who The Hell You Think Taught Them”: Taking Credit for LaMelo and Lonzo’s Success, LaVar Ball Blasts Steve Kerr’s Coaching Credentials

LaVar Ball is known for making loud and bold claims. How true are those statements? Well not at all times. The businessman and father of Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball is not someone who shies away from making his thoughts on certain things known. No matter how controversial those can be.
The one thing that he has let everyone know loud and clear is his dislike of Steven Kerr. At every chance he gets, Ball is always ready to express his criticisms about the Golden State Warriors’ head coach. And he did just that, recently.

In a chat with djvlad, Ball claimed that Kerr was just standing around, doing nothing. He credited the success of the team to the talent of the top players rather than his management skills.

He brought back his previous comparison of Steve as the ‘Milli-Vanilli’ of the NBA. The band is known to have won awards while not having an ounce of talent, resorting to lipsynching. He reinstated his thoughts that Kerr had a very superficial role in the team.
Ball also claimed that he could coach the team blind. Because, he says, “A good coach always lets his players do their thing with just belief in their talent. And then by the sound of the crowd, that means we are doing good. Every time it’s (Yayy), we must be winning. Good job, keep it up. That’s how easy it is. And now you see, he (Kerr) ain’t doing nothing man, come on!”
When talking about the talents of his sons, Lonzo and LaMelo, the father boasted that he was the one who taught his sons all of that. He added, “I taught them how to play faster than anybody. When my boys get on the same team, it will be the biggest thing in the NBA. They’ll play so fast, you can’t catch ‘em.”
Amid all these claims, you may be wondering why he has such strong feelings about Kerr. Well, the answer is a bit complicated and funny, to be honest.
The “Kardashian of the NBA”

It all began in 2018 when Steve called the businessman the “Kardashian of the NBA”. This was in response to Ball telling ESPN that the Lakers no longer want to play for coach Luke Walton, a friend of Kerr and former top assistant with the Warriors.
He added that the father of the then Lakers rookie, Lonzo, has zero credibility. All his controversial statements were just attempts to grab media attention, just like the Kardashians.
This did not bode well with Ball and thus began this feud.
