Over the years, LeBron James has been in the GOAT debate alongside Michael Jordan more than any other year. And rightfully so, given the numbers he has put up, the stats he is achieving, and the accolades he is making. But for a WWE legend to pick LeBron James over Michael Jordan was surely not something anyone saw coming.

It would be a fair assumption that WWE legend Ric Flair would pick MJ over LBJ. But instead, not only did he pick LeBron James over Michael Jordan but he also went on to separate the two with just five words.

Ric Flair separates MJ from LeBron James

Ric Flair recently made an appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast alongside NFL legend, Shannon Sharpe. That is where the two went on to talk about two of the greatest players to play the game of basketball. Given that Ric Flair has been watching the game for some time, it was fair to assume that he might pick Michael Jordan over LeBron James. But instead, he went with The King over the Chicago Bulls legend.

While on the show, Flair wondered what record James would have to break to garner more attention. He even said that James could go on to average 30 points in his 21st season in the league.

Flair was amazed over the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers star has been doing this for so long that he can do whatever he wants on the court. And yet, he chooses to keep his teammates in the groove.

Despite being a WWE legend, Ric Flair has been a fan of the game for quite a few decades now. Due to his love for the game of basketball, it would have been fair to assume that he would have Michael Jordan as his GOAT.

But during the interview, even when Shannon Sharpe went on to ask him to choose between Michael Jordan and LeBron James, the WWE legend went with the latter. It wasn’t just LeBron’s longevity, but his impact impressed that impressed Flair wherever he went.

And his love for the king isn’t something that’s new either. Apparently, “Nature Boy” has been a fan since his Cleveland days, and even introduced the Lakers star at a home game in early 2020.
