The on-court rivalries of the NBA give rise to the off-court clash of egos. One such incident happened when Memphis Grizzlies‘ Dillon Brooks put the Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James in bad limelight with inflammatory comments ahead of the playoffs. The four-time champion responded with his performance as his team won the series.

Brooks came out recently with even more controversial remarks, sparking yet another discussion. Responding to it, a former NBA All-Star gave the 27-year-old a reality check.

During the first round of the Western Conference playoff series, the 7th-seed Lakers defeated the 2nd spot-holder Grizzlies 4-2. Dillon’s inability to contain James after passing bold comments was a particular highlight. Despite that defeat, the shooting guard has refused to accept his fate. In the latest interview with Sportsnet, he reportedly said, “I feel like I always had him,” suggesting he was a match for the four-time MVP.

His comments enraged the 3-time All-Star Gilbert Arenas. He highlighted that both of them let their performance do the talking and the 19-time All-Star emerged victorious. In the recent episode of Gil’s Arena, he responded, “You had 6 games to say this when it was in real-time”.

The former Golden State Warriors star indicated that Brooks intentionally distanced himself from the media during that period to save his image. He added, “I personally don’t wanna hear sh*t you gotta say at this moment in time”. Considering what happened in the series, the evidence is there for everyone to judge.
