With a 13-11 record, the Los Angeles Clippers are barely hanging on to the seventh position in the Western Conference. Constant nagging injuries to some of the team’s star players have really affected the Clippers from performing at their highest level. Load management has kept their main players coming off the bench, and with Kawhi Leonard still out, fans roasted the two-time MVP over a hilarious video of his.

Leonard left the San Antonio Spurs due to a dispute with the team’s coaching staff over how they handled his status when he was injured. He later had great success in his sole year with the Toronto Raptors, bringing the franchise their only NBA championship.

Fans show no mercy to Kawhi Leonard

But since his time with the Los Angeles Clippers began, Leonard has constantly been bitten by the injury bug. In the 24 games that the Clippers have played so far this season, Leonard was only a part of five of those games.

Recently, Clippers beat writer Tomer Azarly posted a video of Leonard during the Clippers’ workout session. He was seen sitting by the court with fellow All-Star Paul George. And as soon as he saw himself being recorded, Leonard threw up two middle fingers toward the camera.

Even though it was all fun and games, fans were seemingly upset with Kawhi Leonard. Not over his actions, but more due to the time he has missed on the floor. While another fan commented, “It would be funny if he like, played.”

Here are some more reactions from NBA Twitter:

While some fans enjoyed seeing the fun side of the usually silent superstar, some were just not happy about it.

Leonard dealing with the injury bug

Kawhi Leonard signed a four-year $176 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers at the start of the 2021-22 NBA season. But looking at the games he has missed so far, it was bound to infuriate some fans. ‘The Klaw’ first got bit by the injury bug back when he was with the San Antonio Spurs.

And he has been dealing with that ever since. Furthermore, Leonard only managed to play 52 games for the Clippers last season. And looking at how things are going so far, it is perhaps unlikely that we will get to see Kawhi Leonard even start more than 50 games this season.

Clippers fans will be hoping to see their star return fit and healthy soon. Do you think the Los Angeles Clippers will make the playoffs this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
