The Greek freak Giannis Antetokounmpo recently created history with the Milwaukee Bucks. After 50 long years, the Bucks reached the pinnacle of success. Giannis’ decision of not switching to a heavyweight side paid off, and just how well! He defied all odds to come out victorious. But he could not have done it all alone; along the way, Giannis was aided by a lieutenant of sorts – Khris Middleton.

Khris Middleton stood up for the Bucks when needed the most

In Giannis‘ absence, the Milwaukee Bucks normally would’ve crumbled. However, Khris Middleton assumed responsibility and carried the team. Along with Jrue Holiday, Middleton saw his side past the Atlanta Hawks. And Arkansas University legend Todd Day acknowledged Middleton’s contribution to Milwaukee.

“I think he was a key force in them [Milwaukee] being able to go over the hump,” Day said on a BasketballNews.com discussion.

Todd Day believes Middleton doesn’t get his due credit

In the 2020-21 season, Middleton averaged just over 20 points for the Bucks. However, when under pressure at 2-2 in the Atlanta series, Middleton stepped up with an average of close to 30 points and finished the job in six games. The proof is in the pudding, and Todd Day felt the same.

“He’s a proven assassin, an asylum assassin. He doesn’t get the credit that I think he deserves because he was in Milwaukee. But now that they’ve made a good playoff run and were able to get a ring, and now he’s going to play for the USA team, he’ll start to get the recognition that he truly deserves.”
