While the speculations continue to float around, nothing has been confirmed or denied by the James camp. However, that hasn’t stopped people from forming theories. Apart from his retirement rumors, King James might also go through surgery for his torn tendon.

Although rumors about an athlete of his stature are not unusual, it is now starting to seem that people want him to retire. Regardless of all the chatter, the decision can only be made by the superstar himself. A recent report might even put all the retirement rumors to rest for now.

As per the source, LeBron will most certainly return for his 21st season in the NBA with the Lakers and will be honoring his contract with another season. The Lakers have to figure out several aspects of the game which caused their exit from this season’s championship race. But among the problems that they have to sort out, LeBron’s absence will not be one.

The season for the Lakers didn’t start as well as they would’ve wanted, but despite the injuries and series of poor performances, they made it into the playoffs. Their bid for the championship was cut short when they faced a 4-0 loss against the Nuggets.

Right ankle surgery concerns for King James

The 38-year-old might have to undergo surgery on his right ankle. He played through a torn tendon during his last leg of the season and might need surgery to get back to proper functioning. It has not yet been confirmed whether he will go through with the surgery, if he does, he will be sidelined for at least two months, which makes the offseason the perfect time to get the procedure.

Despite playing with an injured foot, James was undeniably one of the MVPs of the Lakers’ play on Tuesday. During the postgame interview, he revealed, “I got a lot to think about, to be honest. I got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally, going forward with the game of basketball got a lot to think about.”
