Throughout his career, Anthony Davis has always been somewhat injury prone. Even with the New Orleans Pelicans, he missed some significant time due to untimely injury. This was one of the major factors for his underachieving stint with the organization.
However, since joining the LA Lakers, Davis has maintained his fitness level. But last night against the Denver Nuggets, the 2020 NBA champion re-aggravated an injury near his Achilles. AD is a crucial piece for the purple and gold and an elongated absence could derail the reigning champions.

At first sight, it was diagnosed that AD suffered a calf strain. However, on closer observation, it was a re-aggravation of an injury near his Achilles. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski provided an update about Davis’ return as he tweeted:
“Davis underwent an MRI today, which revealed a re-aggrevation near his Achilles. Lakers and Davis will be conservative on a return to play, which could be sometime after the All-Star Break running March 5 to 10.”

In a way this good news for Lakers fans as their star won’t miss much time. However, considering Anthony Davis‘ history with injury issues, he might be rested for an extra week or two. The Lakers currently hold the second seed in the Western conference with a record of 21-7.
But the biggest question remains: will AD’s absence ruin the team’s chances to repeat this season?
