The trade deadline is just around the corner and this means business for teams around the league. Interestingly, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as an unlikely team who is still looking to make moves in the market. Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry returned to action before his expected date and the entire Warriors fanbase held a collective sigh of relief. However, it seems the front office is still looking to improve despite most of their star players returning.

According to the latest rumors, the team would want to increase depth and quality in two departments which have clearly caused them problems as they started out the 2022-23 NBA season horribly.

Having your star player back in the team instantly boosts the team’s performance and morale. Not only Curry, but Andrew Wiggins is also back for the team. Wiggins played an instrumental role in the 2022 NBA finals and carried on his good form into the next season. Now that he and Curry are back, the Warriors would want to better their performances on the court.

One of the biggest issues concerning coach Steve Kerr is Kevon Looney and Draymond Green. The Warriors lack depth in their positions and for this reason, they are still active in the market. In fact, they will be looking at options that improve their size and shooting. However, the biggest concern for the team remains to get Curry and Wiggins back to their usual best.

“With the NBA trade deadline precisely 30 days away, the Warriors are active in the market, according to league sources. Though nothing is said to be imminent – the front office is more concerned with getting Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins back to speed – there is a desire to add size and shooting”, said a report.

None of the backups to Looney and Green are currently fit which makes their search for depth all the more sensible. In case they want to repeat their heroics of the past season, the Warriors would be needing quality backup options.

The team falters as Stephen Curry finally returns

Former MVP Stephen Curry is finally back and his return made it seem like he never left. Despite missing 11 games due to injury, he scored 24 points against the Phoenix Suns while playing under a minute restriction.

Despite his heroics, the team failed to capitalize on his good performance. Devin Booker, DeAndre Ayton, and Cameron Payne all missed the game for the Suns. Despite their absence, the team beat the Dubs 125-113.
