Draymond Green has arguably been one of the most important figures for the Golden State Warriors for the past decade. He helped them win their fourth NBA championship last season, cementing his name in the history books. However, he recently got involved in an altercation with teammate Jordan Poole, who has been in contract extension talks with the franchise. Recently, head coach Steve Kerr expressed his optimism about Poole’s contract extension. Now, Stephen Curry has provided an update on the same.

It seems all is now well within the Warriors camp, as Green and Poole reportedly had a discussion to move forward. Curry has been vocal on the Green-Poole altercation and recently quashed reports on Poole’s change in attitude.

Curry has now hinted towards some progress in Poole’s contract extension talks.

“We obviously, hopefully got some news coming soon…,” Curry said.

This is big news for Warriors fans as Poole had a massive impact last season. Warriors fans consider Poole a long-term player for the team and likely were relieved to hear this update from Stephen Curry.

Draymond Green is currently on a self-imposed absence away from the team following the incident but could be back soon. The Warriors will face the Denver Nuggets next Friday in their last pre-season game ahead of the 2022-23 regular season.

Both the Warriors and their fans will hope Poole’s extension is sorted out before entering the new season. It would provide a sense of security to the fans that their young star is locked up on a long-term deal.

Jordan Poole’s impact during the pre-season

Jordan Poole had a brilliant display against the Lakers during the Golden State Warriors‘ third pre-season game. Poole ended the game with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. However, the Warriors lost against the Lakers 121-124 despite a valiant effort from the 23-year-old guard.

Green and Poole both started the team’s first pre-season game against the Washington Wizards. Poole ended the game with 5 points and 5 rebounds as the Warriors registered a 96-87 win at the Saitama Stadium in Japan.

Poole also started the team’s second pre-season game against the Washington Wizards and scored 7 points in a Warriors win. Coach Steve Kerr decided to rest Curry and Poole for the Blazers game. However, the Warriors came out with a 131-98 win, thanks to Moses Moody’s 20-point-game.
