The NBA was not the same after Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Although it started a dominant run for the Warriors, the team and KD, in particular, faced a lot of backlashes.
However, their performances on the pitch were nothing less than phenomenal. Moreover, the players formed a perfect team with chemistry like no other.

This can be perfectly illustrated by Draymond Green’s text to Kevin Durant before one of their crucial playoff matches. When the Warriors took on the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018, Durant was looking off.
KD did not have a good outing. In game 3, he finished with just 22 points and 3 rebounds. However, Draymond’s motivation through a 4 AM text worked wonders for Durant and the Warriors.
He put on a monstrous performance to ensure a 118-92 win for the Warriors. After the game, Draymond revealed what he had told Durant. Green said, “I just challenged him to be who he is. I had to tell him.”
He further added, “I didn’t see him attacking or being aggressive enough on both ends of the floor like we need him to be. You know, I don’t hold back. When I see something’s wrong, I have to voice my opinion. There were no hard feelings. We’re just trying to win a ballgame.“
The Warriors ran riot as they knocked out the Pelicans 4-1. KD stood out averaging 27.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
Draymond Green was one of the reasons why Kevin Durant left the Warriors
Draymond Green and Kevin Durant sparked controversy on the court in late 2018. The two stars had an infamous spat during the match which quickly turned ugly.
After KD bashed Green for not giving him the ball for a game-winning shot, Draymond crossed all the lines. He cursed KD and also accused him of leaving the team in free agency during the summer.
