The Los Angeles Lakers 2022-23 campaign can be termed forgettable, at the least. Their playoff hopes are slim to none at this point, but the Purple and Gold aren’t devoid of hope. Their hopes made them go into damage control before the trade deadline, as they made huge trades to help the squad. Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook were bid adieu by the LA side for fresh recruits. However, some reports expressed extreme reactions to the Westbrook trade, calling the nine-time All-Star a “vampire.” Since then, many have come in support of the 34-year-old, and recently, LeBron James joined in on the effort.

King James had had enough of people blaming Russell Westbrook for the downfall of the Lakers. The statements that came out in recent weeks affected James as well, and he showed support for his ex-teammate on social media.

Since Westbrook was called a “Vampire” by an NBA insider, the NBA world came out to support the former Lakers no. 0. Recently, LeBron James joined in the effort by praising Westbrook’s effort off-court on social media. In his recent Instagram stories, LeBron James shared an Instagram post that compiled the tweets by Isaac G. Bryan, a member of the California State Assembly. The tweets mentioned Brodie’s humongous efforts off the court for the LA community.

According to the thread, the former MVP renovated the community center for 1000s of people to enjoy, his Why Not? foundation sponsored events during Christmas. He also opened an LA store named Honor the Gift to spur “creativity and innovation.”

I don’t really care about how you feel about the trade… Brodie LA forever and we were lucky to have you home. Real ones will forever know it’s always bigger than basketball” wrote Isaac G. Bryan in the final tweet of the thread.

Russell Westbrook wasn’t having the best season with the Lakers, but he pulled his socks up later. Although the team wasn’t benefiting much with him on the squad, he really helped the team coming off the bench.
