“He Ain’t No Candidate..”: LeBron James Blurts Out Eventuality as Heat Legend Dwyane Wade Nearly Makes NBA History

The 4x NBA champion LeBron James was quick to share his view on the Hall of Fame’s eligibility list for 2023. James’ former Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade became the talking point as some fans questioned his place on the list. However, it is the ultimate honor for any NBA player to get their name carved in NBA history forever. Meanwhile, LeBron James took to Twitter to comment on Wade’s inclusion on the eligibility list.

Both NBA greats made their debuts in the same year. James and Wade were the no.1 and no.5 overall picks, respectively, in the 2003 draft. They have both shared a special bond since then. Furthermore, they teamed up together for the Miami Heat between the 2010-14 seasons, winning two championships during that time.

LeBron James expressed his excitement for his close friend’s major achievement. Moreover, he showed confidence in Wade’s possibility of getting inducted. James said on Twitter, Congrats to my brother @DwyaneWade on being on the eligible candidate HOF list!! I mean he ain’t no candidate, he’s IN!!!!! Hahaha!”. Though James and Wade joined the NBA in the same year, Wade retired in 2019.

The three-time NBA champion had an impressive NBA career that spanned 16 seasons, ending with a career average of 22 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. Wade is widely known for his extraordinary abilities in the point guard position. The 13-time All-Star is a first-time nominee for this honor.

Additionally, current Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said, “I can’t wait for it because we all know how Dwyane is..He’s going to throw a party that’s going to be one for the ages.”

A look at the NBA Hall of Fame

It is necessary for the player to have completely retired from the game for four seasons before being eligible for the Hall of Fame. If inducted, Wade will join the likes of legendary NBA names such as Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O’Neal, Isiah Thomas, and many more.
