“He’s Getting Drug Tested”: Topsy Turvy Night for Lakers Vet Left LeBron James and the NBA World in a Rollercoaster of Emotions

One of the most classic matchups that take place every year is the Los Angeles Lakers going up against the Boston Celtics. Years of rivalry and competitiveness between these two teams always draw extra attention and a full-packed stadium. The Celtics, even though are the number one team in the Eastern Conference, are on a three-game losing streak. Whereas the Lakers are still trying to put together a string of winning games in order to be considered a threat in the West. 

Both teams were a couple of men short. One good news is that the Los Angeles Lakers finally had Anthony Davis back in their lineup. Boston however, was still playing without their Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart. 

LeBron James could not believe what Beverley did

The game was breathtaking throughout the four quarters of the game as it reached overtime. But what caught everyone off guard was Patrick Beverley’s putback dunk during the final seconds of the game.

Fans, commentators, and the whole arena was taken aback by what just Beverley pulled off, and his own teammates as well, including LeBron James. One fan tweeted, “Yeah… he’s getting drug tested.”

Another fan commented, “Carrying the lakers in the clutch where are you lebron.”

A lot of fans could not believe that Beverley had such an insane vertical and speculated that the league will be drug-testing him soon.

The Lakers are finally back together

The last time these two teams met, the Celtics managed to come out on top defeating the Lakers. So, it would be natural to assume that the Lakers would want to even the score and get this win. With Anthony Davis back in the lineup, the Lakers made sure to get into the groove right away.

The game already went into overtime behind some insane last-second plays.  LeBron James led the team in scoring and had enough help from his teammates. However, James and the rest of the squad could not close the game in overtime as they lost to the Celtics, 121-125.
