The NBA world got emotional as the Los Angeles Lakers presented their tribute to rapper Takeoff during warmups ahead of their game against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. In their last game, LeBron James and co. finally ended their losing streak against the Denver Nuggets. And now fans want them to continue to build on their first win of the season.
Takeoff, the 28-year-old Migos rapper, was shot and killed last night in Houston. And the news of his death shocked the entire world. All of the big names came out to express their condolences and pay tribute to the young star online. “No f*****g way…,” Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young tweeted, and Dallas Mavericks coach Jared Dudley tweeted, “Wow! So sad man! RIP.” Furthermore, superstars from other sports also paid their respects.

So far this season, the New Orleans Pelicans have won four of six games. Tonight, it will be interesting for fans to see the competition between the two power forwards Zion Williamson and the Los Angeles Lakers great LeBron James.
