Before turning 38, LeBron James turned the NBA world upside down in a fiery post-game press conference speech, where he hinted at moving out of town if things don’t get better for the Los Angeles Lakers. Amid yet another struggling season, the Lakers’ front-office might just have to give in to the King’s demands and trade him if the LA side continues to languish in the West. As fans speculate on potential destinations, recent reports have suggested some favorites who could land the 4x NBA champion. Incidentally, Stephen Curry and the Warriors have emerged as one of the favorites to sign James, as per recent rumors, for very intriguing reasons.

In the recent frenzy surrounding James’ trade rumors, an NBA insider put together a list of potential destinations for the Lakers forward. It turns out that the Warriors are among the favorites to land the King. Moreover, the fateful trade can make James’ dream union with Stephen Curry a reality.

After a soul-crushing defeat against his former team, the Miami Heat, LeBron James issued a candid notification to the Lakers’ management. In the speech, he hinted at his disappointment with the Lakers’ inability to win and also talked about his future and legacy, implying a desire to move out of town. Unsurprisingly, James’s words ensued a social media storm in the NBA world, with fans and analysts speculating on potential destinations.

As fans speculated and concocted bizarre trades on social media all week, a senior writer and insider at CBS sports approached the ordeal more effectively. Sam Quinn, the insider in question, ranked the teams who can land James on various factors like roster appeal, fitness, market appeal, assets and salaries to the Lakers, and the likelihood of drafting Bronny James in 2024.

But the logistics of making the trade happen would involve a lot of deliberation on both sides. But a more likely deal on the table, according to Quinn, is an exchange of Draymond Green for James for the Warriors. Klay Thompson, whose father played for the Lakers, is the next favorite asset in a ‘Crazy’ deal between the two franchises.

LeBron James wants to play with Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors emerging as favorites amid the James trade rumors isn’t all that surprising. Earlier this year, during an appearance on HBO’s The Shop, when asked who he would most like to play with in the NBA, James quickly replied by naming his son Bronny. However, when asked to name an active player, the King uttered the name of his fellow ‘four rings’ club member Stephen Curry.

James said, “In today’s game, sh** there’s some m****f**** in today’s game, Steph Curry’s the one that I wanna play with for sure.”
