LeBron James’ Lakers to Pursue Long-Standing Target at the Cost of Russell Westbrook After “Rebuff” News: Trade Rumor

Los Angles Lakers are looking for new options to bolster their roster. However, according to reports, they dropped their desire to trade in new players in the squad until next year when Russell Westbrook’s enormous $47 million salary would have come off the books. In a change of events yet again, the latest emerging report suggested that the Lakers might be finally able to trade in a player who could provide the requisite support to LeBron James and others.

Last night, the Lakers got their fifth consecutive win after defeating the Sacramento Kings. Thanks to King James and other stars for turning up at the right moment to stop the ship from sinking. The purple and gold are currently performing exceptionally well than the way they started this season. Therefore, now, the addition of the rumored star would be icing on the cake for the Lakers as he would definitely add a lot more value to the squad.

The Indiana Pacers star, Buddy Hield was a target of the Lakers’ front office for over a year now. The Lakers’ front office seemingly still has their eyes on him. Interestingly, with another Pacers star, Myles Turner rebuffing his extension offer from the Pacers, the purple and gold could finally look out for the 30-year-old by unloading Russ from the roster.

Eric Pincus of the Bleacher Report in one of his latest articles delved deeper into this affair. He wrote, “If Turner isn’t restructured and extended, the Lakers could still pursue Hield, but that would still cost L.A a first to move off of Westbrook.

The biggest weakness that the Lakers currently have are they lack shooters who could shoot 3-pointers accurately. In fact, they are currently placed in the 25th position in the league in 3-point shooting accuracy. Heild would, however, take care of this problem as he is very capable of putting the ball into the basket from any point of the court.  The 30-year-old is currently averaging around 17.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists along with scoring 42.9 % of his 3-pointers.
