Giannis Antetokounmpo has now officially won every major trophy in the league with his latest addition to the trophy cabinet, a Larry O’Brian trophy and a Finals MVP trophy. But his path to the championship surely hasn’t been easy.
While Giannis and Co. were dominant in the last two regular seasons, the Bucks fizzled out in the playoffs. But this season, the Bucks took some risky moves as they traded away multiple future round first picks for Jrue Holiday.

The risk paid off for the Bucks though. With Giannis’ masterful performance in the Finals, and Middleton and Holiday having an impact on both ends of the floor, Milwaukee finally won their first title in 50 years.

These playoffs were certainly one of a kind. With the defending champions Lakers struggling with injuries, superstar LeBron James crashed out of the playoffs in the very first round.
While the Nets had their fair share of injury woes, with James Harden and Kyrie Irving missing, Kevin Durant showed his class. Coming up with an all-time performance against the Bucks, the ‘Slim Reaper’ reminded everyone why he is one of the best.

Given the post-season runs both KD and Giannis had this season, the two superstars certainly have a claim to be the best player in the league. Lakers’ legend Earvin Magic Johnson certainly thinks so.

After the ‘Greek Freak‘s latest victory in the Finals, Magic warned LeBron of Antetokounmpo and Durant coming for the throne. While Bron started his 2020-21 season in an incredible form, injuries killed off his season and his chances for winning another MVP trophy.
With KD and Giannis in their prime and LeBron James aging, we might be seeing the inevitable decline of ‘the King’ this season. Unless and until LeBron James puts on a monstrous season, a MVP seems out of reach.
