It has been eight years since the Miami Heat last scripted history in the NBA. In 2013, the Heat edged out the Spurs in a humdinger of a final. Ever since then, however, the side has seen a dry patch. Despite finishing sixth in the season gone by, Miami will aim to better their performance in the upcoming edition. In order to do so, they are pulling out all the stops.

In a swooping deal, the Heat landed Toronto Raptors icon for the new season. The 35-year-old will play as the starting guard, and adds to the strength of the Miami attack. The six-time All-Star will bring heaps of experience to the squad as well. If he can connect well with star player Jimmy Butler, it will blow the Eastern Conference wide open.

What better way to induce a winning mentality into the side than to introduce an NBA winner. After a successful season with the Milwaukee Bucks, P. J. Tucker will be hellbent on continuing the positive signs with Miami. Another experienced campaigner, Tucker, is a very flexible player, and can contribute to multiple positions. His defensive abilities make him an even bigger asset.

One of the big international superstars of the NBA, Dragic was part of the Heat setup for close to seven years. ‘The Dragon’ is a quality guard, and has been offloaded to accommodate newer talents. At 35 years of age, Dragic is nearing the end of his career, and the Heat called it a day. He will most likely be a part of the Toronto Raptors next year.
