As far as celebrity basketball dates, there is arguably no fan more passionate than Drake. The ‘Hotline Bling’ artist has a special connection with several stars such as Stephen Curry and LeBron James. However, when it comes to his allegiance, fingers have been raised on his true loyalty. Notably, the Canadian rapper is highly regarded as a bandwagon fan of teams across several sports. But even having Kawhi Leonard wasn’t enough for Drake to side with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Dating back to 2019, the Toronto Raptors made a fairytale run to the NBA Finals. Coming face to face with the Golden State Warriors, the Klaw and his forces had a serious challenge in front. However, the former Defensive Player of the Year took down the dynasty in a matter of six games. While injuries may have helped Toronto, Drake couldn’t care. He enjoyed the loud crowd when his hometown was declared as NBA champions.

Despite Kawhi Leonard parting ways with the Raptors, the rapper never forgot what he did for the legacy of his franchise. Likewise, in their recent clash with the Raptors, Drake had to get some courtside seats. The two shared a moment on the sidelines. The Clippers organization picked out the video of the rapper being a ‘fan’. It’s safe to say the four-time Grammy award winner didn’t take the joke well.
Drake hits back at the Clippers despite sharing a moment with Kawhi Leonard
The Los Angeles Clippers have been on a steamy stretch with Leonard back in team colors. They have lost just two games in December with the Klaw starting in his spot. Likewise, the Raptors became victims to a stacked Clipper side, losing 113-124. After watching his franchise hero demolish his team, Drake shared a moment with him and Norman Powell, both former Raptors players. The Clippers felt they could use the moment to take a jab at the rapper.
