The Brooklyn Nets are 13-1 in their last 14 games, and their only loss came against the Mavs when both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were absent. If anything, the Nets are only getting better and they’re producing winning results against top WC teams like the Suns, the Lakers, and the Clippers.
One cornerstone in all their major victories since the very beginning of the season has been Kyrie. Put aside the stunt that kept him away from the court, and he has been phenomenal since the comeback. So much so that his competitors are also singing his praises.

The Nets are yet to play the Portland Trail Blazers this season, but perhaps Damian Lillard is already studying Kyrie’s game. Recently, Dame came across a video post dedicated to Ky and his spotless scoring against the Celtics. The star point guard and WC All-Star was so impressed to see those flicks that he wrote in the Instagram comment, “Most beautiful game in history”.
Now, one can view it either as a reflexive remark or an exaggeration, but no one who saw that game would disagree with Dame.

Ky enjoyed a crafty night where he scored from every area on the court. The Celtics were neck-to-neck against the Nets until the beginning of Q4, when the matter slipped out of hands. Kyrie dropped five threes, scored 100% from the FT line, and added 40 points for the Nets.

How good is Ky in this season?
NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith, who once had said that Kyrie must consider retirement from the sport, has now changed his stance. Now, he is voicing that Ky must be seen as a major MVP contender.
And why won’t he? Ky has taken the scoring burden on his shoulders after the injuries have kept Kevin Durant out. He is currently averaging a career-high 27.7 points, while also improving big time on his shooting accuracy. Also, his chemistry with James Harden is doing wonders for the Nets, and some credit rightly goes to coach Steve Nash as well.

They now have the best guards, a great center in DeAndre Jordan, and a bench leader in Blake Griffin, who is about to make his Nets debut.
This unit is certainly better than Dame’s squad presently. Do you think the Blazers can topple Kyrie’s men on March 23?
