Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons recently opted out of the team to enter the trade pool. While talks are around his potential destinations, Golden State Warriors have recently emerged as the healthier option for the All-Star
Back when the 2020-21 season ended, Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey wished to pursue a deal to trade Simmons. In exchange for their key player, Sixers hoped to acquire Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, the 7th and 14th overall picks in the 2021 NBA draft, and two future first-round picks. But, the Warriors declined Daryl’s offer.

At the moment, GSW is led by their 33-YO scoring juggernaut Stephen Curry. And within a span of few months, the ‘Splash Brothers’ will unite on the court as Klay Thompson will be making his comeback after two years of injuries. Unlike the Clippers and Lakers who do not have much to offer as trade assets, GSW has a young bunch of players.

Amin Elhassan went on to explain how Ben Simmons will completely fit the Dubs Nation. “You say we (Warriors) get this guy, 25-YO and he gives us an opportunity to extend this window for five, six, seven more years. As these (Warriors) guys get older, maybe not as good as they want to work, doesn’t matter.”
“We’ve got this other guy (Simmons) as a centerpiece in this. In free-flowing offense up and down, he’ll be more free to be the best version of himself than he was in Philadelphia.”

Simmons, the 2-time NBA All-Defensive First Team member, has undergone severe criticism after an embarrassing 2021 playoff run. Despite his previous accolades, Simmons isn’t in the right spot at the moment. He has made a decision to leave Philadelphia before the training camp. However, what is ahead of him is yet to be seen.
The 3-time all-star averaged a mere 11.9 points per game during the last postseason and that’s where the misery began for Simmons.
