“Perfect.. They Need a Big.. I’m Dwight Howard”: LeBron James’ Teammate Admits Surprise Ambitions of His Next Destination

Three-time defensive player of the year Dwight Howard revealed his future ambition of playing for the Golden State Warriors. On the ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, Howard stated that he is exactly what the Warriors need right now. 

Dwight Howard was seen as the last on-court in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey. Since then he has remained a free agent, but no team has signed him up. With an overall career field goal percentage of 58.7%, Howard is keen on spending his 19th season in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors and finishing off on the top.

Dwight Howard wants to play with the Golden State Warriors

Howard claims to have been a warrior all his life. He knows how the team is shaped but suggests that they need a player who could also mentor the youngsters on the team. He said, “I know they have Kevon Looney. I know they have Wiseman. But I’m Dwight Howard. Wiseman can learn so much from me.”

James Wiseman reminds Howard of former San Antonio Spurs player David Robinson. While talking about Wiseman’s size and athleticism, Howard is certain that he can help Wiseman grow as a player.  

Howard guaranteed that James Wiseman would not be the only player to benefit from him. He stated that with him setting screens, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson would get many more wide-open shots. He believed that he would get along well with Draymond Green as well. Overall, Dwight Howard is certain that he would add a lot of value to the Warriors

The Warriors are frustrated

The Warriors have won 3 games and lost 5. Their recent loss was against the Miami Heat. Placed 12 on the western conference table, the Warriors have gotten off to a slow start. They have shown fans glimpses of championship-level play. But this hasn’t been enough for them to bag victories.

There is an air of discomfort among fans, but panic has not set in. Having said that, Stephen Curry in a recent press conference spoke about the mood in the locker room. He stated that they are frustrated with these results.

Curry said, “There is frustration b/c we have a standard…That’s good b/c we’ve had championship banners to show for it, but that uneasiness puts you in a position where you have to figure it out.”
