Reggie Jackson Makes Major Sacrifice To Re-sign With Kawhi Leonard’s Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers, following a choke job in the Orlando Bubble had something to prove coming into this season. With the promotion of former champion head coach Tyronn Lue following the firing of Doc Rivers L.A. targeted a cultural change heading into the 2020-21 season. With Lue as the outspoken leader of the franchise, the Clippers rode through it all, making it to their first ever WCF in the process.
One of their key pieces in a franchise playoffs first was PG Reggie Jackson, a walking bucket who stepped up in Kawhi’s absence. Hitting shot after shot in crunch moments, Jackson, is headed for a 22-million $ payday as he is now guaranteed to return to Clipper Nation in 2021.

Brought into the fold to boost the roster’s offensive arsenal, Reggie brought his A-game to the table. Therefore, as most experts predicted, Jackson is heading for a big payday with Clipper Nation this offseason.
Playoff payday for Reggie Jackson
Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news just over an hour ago, detailing the intricacies of Jackson’s return to L.A. In a contract that spans over 2 years, Reggie will now earn 11-million $ this season, with no player/team option till 2023.
Jackson played a huge role in the Clippers run to the conference finals after taking over the starting job and was a top offseason priority to keep.

The L.A. Clippers front office straight up offered Jackson the maximum available contract using his Early Bird Rights clause with a minimum of 2 seasons. Anyhow, Clipper fans aren’t complaining, especially not after he proved his scoring prowess averaging 17.8ppg on 48.4% shooting from the field and 40.8% from 3.

After being acquired via the buy-out market in late 2020, a DNP in the bubble playoffs saw Jackson’s value dip. However, his return to the franchise on a minimum contract proved a win win for both sides, in a season where he now cashes out with the pay day he’s about to sign!
