Reggie Miller: “Steph Curry Has Revolutionized and Changed the Perception of Shooters… to Me, He Sits Alone on the Mountaintop of Shooters”

Alongside a worldwide NBA fanbase, rival players and analysts often refer to Stephen Curry as the greatest shooter of all time. Curry could not miss a shot if he tried to. Over the years, rivals have acknowledged the Golden State Warriors star’s unfiltered talent too.

Recently, an NBA legend heaped lofty praise on Curry’s shooting abilities.

Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller reserved high praise for Stephen Curry. ‘The Athletic’ spoke to Miller on the occasion of the NBA’s 75th anniversary. The magazine had ranked Miller at No. 47.

Questioning Miller about the ‘greatest long-range shooter of all time,’ they also granted him the liberty to include himself as one of the names.

Mentioning Curry, Miller said, “I would never say myself, no. I think Steph has changed the game; right now, he sits alone. Before Steph, the best I’d seen to that point was Drazen Petrovic. But Steph has revolutionized and changed the perception of shooters. Drazen and I would run off screens, catch and shoot, but Steph can do everything. To me, he sits alone on the mountaintop of shooters.”

At the time of his retirement in 2005, Miller ranked first in the all-time list of three-pointer shots made. Boston Celtics’ Ray Allen managed to surpass Miller only in 2013. Currently, Allen ranks first on the list with Curry in second place and Miller in third.

Curry has currently scored 2,964 three-pointers with six of them coming in his recent game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors star needs just 10 three-pointers to surpass Alen for the first spot. Curry has astonishingly reached his three-pointer record in just 786 NBA games.

Stephen Curry and The Warriors sink the Portland Trail Blazers

The Golden State Warriors cruised to a home win against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors finished the game with a dominant score of 104-94 against the Trail Blazers at Chase Center. Stephen Curry drained six three-pointers, which put him within nine three-pointers of meeting Ray Allen’s record.

Curry led the Warriors scoring 22 points with 6-0f-17 shooting from beyond the arc while Jordan Poole added 20 points. Norman Powell scored 26 points while Nassir Little scored 18 points as the Trail Blazers fell to their 15th defeat of the season. The Warriors and Curry face the Philadelphia 76ers next in an away game.
