But a new team has emerged out of the shadows. They, too, want the maverick point guard so that their superstar’s abilities are enhanced. The team? The Dallas Mavericks. They were initially not linked with each other but Jalen Brunson’s departure can open up a lot of space.

This news comes at the heels of Dallas not retaining the services of  Jalen Brunson The franchise had told him that he is free to leave for New York where his father is an assistant coach. Journalist Evan Massey has stated on Twitter, “Per source, the Dallas #Mavericks are expected to heavily pursue a trade for #Nets star Kyrie Irving. Assuming they lose Jalen Brunson, that pursuit will be very aggressive.”

If this is true, the Dallas Mavericks are trying to find an able replacement for Brunson. Not many can repeat his production last season. He averaged 21.6 points per game in the playoffs. Brunson was one of the factors behind the team moving to the Playoff Finals. Hence, his absence will be felt by the team. Irving would potentially be a great replacement, but it comes at a great price.
