Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have had Stephen Curry and Golden State Warriors’ number all season long. They had already beaten them twice, and they looked to wrap up the season series, as the Warriors came to visit on Thursday. Eventually, the Mavericks completed the wrap as they walloped to a 122-113 victory.
Luka had a huge game as he ended with 41 points and he had a near triple-double. The Warriors never led, and they were down by 17 at one point. But they fought all the way back to tie it up multiple times. However, the Warriors were unable to get the lead as they lose their third straight game in a row.

Curry had a decent outing as he finished with 21 points and 9 assists. But he only took 15 shots the entire game. That is highly unlikely of Stephen Curry. What’s even more surprising is that he didn’t even attempt a shot in the fourth. It doesn’t happen quite often that the greatest shooter of all time doesn’t attempt a single shot in the fourth quarter of a close game.
The reason for it was the Mavs’ defense. Curry was heating up, and he was 4-5 from three-point land. The Mavs realized if they let Curry go off, they will surely lose this game. So they decided to trap him at every opportunity. Hence, he always had to pass the ball to a teammate. They did an excellent job on him, as they managed to restrict his influence.
