He said, “What will forever be attached to him is that he left Steph Curry to join Kyrie Irving.” Further, he added that Durant placed his trust in a player like Irving, who found several ways to cause trouble off the court and ended up in the headlines.

He stated that the two-time NBA Champion placed his “trust” in Irving, who for most of his tenure wasn’t “available”. Smith said, “That ultimately will get attached to Kevin Durant more so than just saying, ‘Well you know what? I wanted to part from Golden State.'”
