Steve Kerr, widely acknowledged for his leadership and disciplining skills, is one of the most respected coaches in the NBA. Kerr makes no exceptions when it comes to punctuality, not even for the game’s greats like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Even other celebrities had to deal with his strictness on occasions. Kerr was once upset and fined the world-famous Canadian rapper Drake.

The nine-time NBA champion had circulated several team rules as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors. One of the many unique rules is that the players are allowed to invite a friend on the plane a couple of times a year. Steve Kerr once told a hilarious story about how the rule once cost Millionaire Drake, Steph Curry, and Draymond Green a $500 fine.

The world knows that Drake is a big fan of the Toronto Raptors. He can be spotted numerous times in the arena supporting his favorite team.

During the Warriors-Raptors pregame media conference on January 2021, Kerr told a story about Stephen Curry and Draymond Green being late for a flight. He shared the incident in detail. As it turns out, the whole squad was at the airport during the departure time, except for Steph and Draymond.

He further added, “Eric Housen, our travel man, called Steph and he said, ‘Oh, my fault, I’m with Drake and Draymond, we’re at the arena still, sorry we’re late.

The trio then arrived at the airport. As per the team’s unique rule, Steph opted to bring Drake on the plane with the team. Then Steve Kerr said, “And I fined all three of them for being late. And Drake paid his $500 fine, you can ask him, true story.”
