The Golden State Warriors were off to a good start for the season. They took down the Los Angeles Lakers with a final score of 123-109. Though the Warriors seemed to be in sync on the floor, they have seemingly yet to move on from the Draymond Green and Jordan Poole physical altercation that took place during the Warriors’ training camp recently.

As many fans are aware, Draymond Green ended up punching teammate Jordan Poole during a training session. Green did not face much punishment at the hands of the Warriors’ front office. Rather than being suspended, he was fined instead, which baffled analysts and fans alike.

The rest of the Golden State Warriors have picked sides

NBA legends and analysts made various speculations about the situation. ESPN’s Zach Lowe noted a certain “iciness” between Draymond Green and the rest of the team. And perhaps unsurprisingly so. A team’s chemistry and bond are bound to be tested following such an incident between teammates.

Lowe talked about head coach Steve Kerr’s comments when he said that the punch was “the biggest crisis” he had faced during his tenure with the Warriors. Teammate Kevon Looney said that Green has “work to do” in order to regain the trust of the team.

Zach Lowe mentioned that the Golden State Warriors are reportedly not looking to trade Draymond Green unless something drastic takes place. However, during the Warriors ring ceremony, both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson got to address the fans but Draymond Green on the other hand did not.

After the game against the Lakers, The Athletic’s Anthony Slater speculated that it does not seem as if the locker room is divided. He went on to 95.7 The Game radio station to say, “It’s mostly like, Draymond was very wrong, Jordan Poole was the one who has been wronged, we’re on Jordan Poole’s side of this, Draymond Green must earn trust back.”

Green will have to regain the trust of his teammates

It does seem as if the Warriors team has picked a side following the incident. Even though Draymond Green is a veteran team leader, his leadership qualities were put into question due to his actions by many fans.
