The Golden State Warriors suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Semifinals. With that, the season came to an end for the Warriors. What was supposed to be a campaign to defend their 2022 title, came to an end quite a few steps from the finish line. Additionally, their season was also marred with controversies, one in particular involving Jordan Poole and Draymond Green became a highlight.

Recently, Poole addressed the preseason incident once again, and it wasn’t received well by fans. Although this could be because the Dubs Nation is in shambles after their team’s exit from the season. Regardless, the 23-year-old faced the wrath of fans on social media as they demanded that Poole needs to leave the team.

Jordan Poole sheds light on his altercation with Draymond Green earlier this season

On the 5th of October last year, Poole and Green got into a fight during their practice session. The Warriors veteran punched Poole after a short verbal disagreement. Before Green punched him to the ground, Poole tried to shove the 33-year-old away from him. Their teammates and staff barged in quickly to prevent further damage.

The video of the fight soon surfaced on the internet, sending the NBA world into a frenzy. While everyone tried to figure out what caused the two teammates to go against one another, Poole told the reporters almost two weeks later that Green apologized to him and they are good now.

With the Warriors crashing out of the season, the incident was brought back to the conversation. Poole was recently asked if the October incident affected the season’s outcome for the Warriors. He said “We had a good season. Guys stepped up and we had a lot of exciting moments.”

“I don’t think there was anything that changed,” he added. Although the 2022 NBA champion believes that nothing changed because of the one incident, fans were not willing to let his statement go easily. Poole played 23 minutes in game 6, and in that time he managed only seven points and four assists.
