WATCH: Clippers’ Patrick Beverley Shoves Chris Paul from Behind in Frustration During Game 6 Loss vs Suns

The Suns took every quarter from the Clippers as they aimed at their first NBA finals in 28 years. Playing without their bench leader in Cameron Johnson, the visitors in the Staples Center still boasted depth. They had Dario Saric and Cameron Payne to their rescue and that matched with the Clips’ Boogie show.
The shorthanded Clippers were playing without Kawhi Leonard and Ivica Zubac. However, they had the basketball acumen and pressure-handling skills of coach Ty Lue at their disposal. But the coach could do only so much if his star players don’t produce offensively against a very efficient roster. Anyway, everything aside, the highlight of the game became a horrendous move by Pat Beverley.

The feud between Patrick Beverley and Chris Paul started with him mimicking CP3 earlier in the series as the latter fell on the floor in one of the sequences.
But the 32-YO took that banter to nasty and unforgivable heights in Game 6 as he pushed CP3 from behind and caused the veteran to land on the floor. As much as the commentators were shocked, the flagrant on Pat was just a small punishment for such an act.

One such move could’ve led to a severe injury to someone as old as CP3, but an angry Pat paid no heed. He failed to handle the trash talks and succumbed to his emotions. This move certainly tainted his otherwise decent night.

How did the Clippers blow their chances?
The Clips had Tyronn Lue as the winningest coach in the elimination games. Plus, they were certainly fortunate that the Suns’ wing player Cam Johnson was out because of non-covid related illness.
Although an unnecessary mention, they had decent crowd support with Vin Diesel leading the cheers from the stands. Yet, they blew it all against Chris Paul‘s daring volleys.

Paul George invested the entire first half focusing on the defense and took very few shot attempts. Later, as the deficit kept increasing, there was nothing he could do about it.
His struggle against Torrey Craig was real, and the latter’s numbers won’t tell how much of a pain he was to PG.
