Shaquille O’Neal, Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams spoke about various trending topics in the episode of ‘The Big Podcast’ that aired on 2nd March. The four-time NBA Champion and his crew weighed in on Trae Young‘s reputation as a ‘coach killer’, the Los Angeles Lakers’ prospects in the championship and Damian Lillard’s future at the Portland Trail Blazers. Shaq also expressed his disagreement with Michael B Jordan’s ‘revenge’ on a female reporter.

The conversation broke into sudden banter however, as Shaq started poking fun at one of his crew members after she let slip an anecdote from her life.

Shaquille O’Neal makes fun of a Hooters date

At one point in the episode, Trae Young became the focal point of the conversation. Nischelle Truner asked Shaq if he thinks Trae is a coach killer. Alluding to the restaurant chain, Shaq said “A coach killer is someone who you cannot talk to. He thinks he is the greatest thing since Hooters.” The conversation shifted to Hooters as Nischelle Turner responded by speaking about one of her experiences at a Hooters restaurant.

Soon after Shaquille O’Neal finished speaking about Trae Young, Nischelle Turner told the crew that she had been to Hooters on a first date with a guy. This surprised both Shaq and Spice Adams, who were immediately seen trying to control their laughter. Things turned funnier when Turner revealed it was a waiter who took her to Hooters on a date. Upon hearing this, Shaq paused for a second as if he was trying to fathom what he just heard, then exclaimed, “You date waiters?? Oh hell no!”

Both Shaq and Adams were having fun at the cost of Turner, and she tried to explain herself. Adams mocked her saying it is not even a date because the waiter did not come to pick her up. Adding to the jibe, the Lakers legend said “Don’t ever tell that story again, cause it makes you look desperate…any guy can just come and ask you on a date, that’s what you said… hey hey any guys if you’ve seen the show, just ask her out for a date.. that’s what you just said.”

Mac McClung joins the party with date ideas

Once the crew had enough fun on ‘Hooters date,’ 2023 Slam dunk Contest winner Mac McClung joined the show. Nischelle Turner asked him if he will take someone on a date to Hooters. McClung too was on Shaq’s side and said he won’t ever do that. Mac hinted that he had some other ideas for a date. Shaq asked him to enlighten the crew. “I like being outdoors, maybe a hike,” said Mac. Shaq made use of the situation and taunted Turner once again. He said “Mac Mac don’t do that. Take them on a date to Mc Donald’s, Waffle House or Hooters, if they kinda appreciate it, get rid of them.”
