Los Angeles Lakers lost the game in overtime against the Boston Celtics last night following a game-tying shot from Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum in the final seconds. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook were the major contributors in the game for the Lakers. However, the LA side fell short of a victory and it raised a debate among the analysts of ‘Inside the NBA’ during a post-game segment. Among the panellists, Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley even dismissed the valiant efforts of the Lakers stars in crunch time calling them a bad team.

In one of the recent episodes of ‘Inside the NBA,’ the regular crew members, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith reacted to the overtime thriller between the Lakers and the Celtics which ended with a box score of 118-122. In addition to that, the Sixers legend discounted LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ performances despite the stars dropping 37 and 33 points respectively.

Amidst the debate, Charles Barkley could be found being critical of the Lakers’ performance, proclaiming that ‘they are not a good team’. Meanwhile, Kenny Smith intervened and pointed out that the Lakers having three players from the NBA’s 75 players list was the chief reason behind Barkley’s harsh criticism. Moreover, the Rockets legend added that the LA side were also playing against a team who were legitimate championship contenders.

Barkley probably didn’t like the way Smith was trying to mask the loss of the Lakers by giving several excuses. He also seemed irritated by the fact that they have to cover the LA side everyday despite their current woes. After their defeat against Boston, the Lakers now sit at the 12th position in the Western Conference with a languishing record of 11-16.
