They chose one lucky fan to experience the Hall of Fame weekend alongside them, offering a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse into what it’s like to be part of basketball history. It got more special for the fan. “We got one more thing. I know this is crazy. I appreciate you coming. So, what I’mma do is I’m going to give you this my hall of fame ring.”

Yes, Dwight Howard gave away his ring to a fan. But there’s more to it. The fan’s name was Matthew, and it was Dwight’s way of supporting the fan to make him realize that even his efforts as a single dad of two kids are appreciated. It all started when MD Motivator was holding a Howard’s Magic jersey and waiting for any random fan to interact, and that’s how they met Matthew. He explained, “Yeah, these my boys. I try not to cry from my boys and all that. You know what I mean? But when you go through s— you go through it and you can’t fake it. I lost my sister, my father, my mother.”

Further added that he was going through divorce proceedings with his partner, and even though they are on amicable terms, he doesn’t really have anyone to share his troubles with. It was not just personal troubles; even at the professional end, Matthew claimed he applied to over 64 jobs in the last 3 months, with no positive results. MD Motivator, who was interacting and listening to this fan, made sure to give away the Howard jersey and even $1000. But there was more.

Matthew not only got the jersey, but he also met Dwight Howard for the first time. In the latter part of the video, we see the 3x DPOY traveling with the fan and his kids in a blimp. Being a father of 5 kids, the former Lakers star knows the difficulty of fatherhood. But these small moments — from gifting the jersey, signing it, giving $1000 for a blimp ride, and then spending time in the Hall of Fame. In July, Amy officially filed for divorce, calling their marriage “irretrievably broken.” The 35-year-old former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star also said there was “no prospects for reconciliation”.

But again, things change.
