Is Dwyane Wade Keeping His Tattoo Game on Point? Going Through Heat Legend’s Heartfelt Tributes

Dwyane Wade has definitely improved his tattoo game over the years. Several NBA stars have some really interesting tattoos on them. However, Wade wasn’t really a part of this clan for a very long time. It was only before his last season in the league when the Miami Heat legend decided to get inked.

Since then, he has had several tattoos done, and the story behind each one of his tattoos is very interesting. Let’s have a look at all that the 41-year-old has inked on his body.

Tattoos are a great way of expressing yourself. There are several athletes, across the world who carry some of the coolest tattoos on them. From NBA athletes to soccer superstars, some of the biggest names in the world have had ink put on their skin permanently, to tell a story. In the NBA, it is very common to see our stars flaunting their tattoos. One common theme across the league is to have something related to one’s family tattooed on the body. Wade used to refrain from getting anything permanently stamped on his body. However, before his final season in the league, the NBA superstar decided to honor his daughter and got his first tattoo.

In November 2018, he posted a picture of his first tattoo on his shoulders. Wade wrote “#TBT Goes back to that one night in China when i decided to get my daughters name tattooed on me. Kaavia James Union Wade!” in the caption.

This was then followed by a few more tattoos. It seems after his first ink, Wade liked the idea of imprinting something on his body, especially if it meant so much to him. His next was a quote, “My belief is stronger than your doubt” which Wade had tattooed on his left thigh. His second tattoo was soon after his retirement from the league.

After the first two, his third tattoo was the Way of Wade logo which he had permanently inked on his left knee. After getting that tattoo, Wade said that now he can’t change the logo since it’s permanently inked on him.

His most recent tattoo is a tribute to his wife on her 50th birthday. Wade has her initials inked on his wrist. Gabrielle Union was over the moon after this surprise and said that it was one of the best gifts ever.

Recently, Wade posted a picture of himself on his Instagram story where another one of his tattoos can be seen. The 41-year-old has a very special tattoo on his chest. This particular piece comprises all his jerseys, a basketball court, and Wade standing at the center. However, there are also stories where the NBA has been critical of athletes’ tattoos.

Considering the sheer amount of tattoos that some athletes have, one would assume that it may never be a problem in the league. However, recently, LaMelo Ball experienced something different because of his neck tattoo. The youngster has the initials ‘LF’ of his middle name LaFrance inked on his neck. The NBA has asked him to cover it up during games.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that “The NBA is requiring LaMelo Ball to cover a tattoo below his left ear that the league insists violates rules against exposing commercial logos on players’ bodies – a policy that sources close to Ball contend has been infrequently enforced.” The reason behind such an absurd demand is that LF also happens to be the name of his clothing brand.
