Vinicius Jr is celebrating his sports idols in a massive way. The Real Madrid star had the likeness of the GOATs across different sports inked on his back in a spectacular fashion. The soccer pro has an affinity for the NBA through his friend, Giannis Antetokounmpo. He’s gone way beyond those expectations in his newest tribute.

His new tattoo has left eyes and jaws wide open, not only for the scale of it occupying his entire back, but also for the artist’s talented rendition. Among the greats permanently etched into Vinicius’ skin, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant stood out.

Fans now have the HD view of his new back tattoo featuring icons like Muhammad Ali and Pele among others. Prominently standing out in the center is Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant.

The iconic image is from 2008 when Los Angeles Lakers played against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of the playoffs. The Black Mamba celebrated a three-pointer by tugging on his No.24 jersey.

On the side was Michael Jordan. Though something was amiss. It appears the tattooist took some artistic liberty to make His Airness lefthanded when the somewhat ambidextrous legend was comfortable with his right hand. That resulted in some jokes from social media followers.

However, the majority of fans are left in awe of the artistry. Vini’s extreme admiration for these titans is undisputable too.

NBA stars decorate Vinicius Jr’s home

The Brazilian phenom’s heroes aren’t limited to soccer. He’s not only displayed them on his skin, he’s got them on his home too. Vini Jr. revealed a 23 feet wide mural in his home’s well-equipped gym and it features every GOAT.

It features MJ (with no hand-related inaccuracies), Bryant (the same one tattooed on his back), and Pele (the same from the tattoo), He christened the mural by artist, Rene Makela, the ‘Idols Wall.’  Made of acrylic and oil paints, it took Makela about two weeks to finish.

He idolizes Christiano Ronaldo and LeBron James too. Funnily, it was Ronaldo who cheekily requested the younger Real Madrid star to add him on the wall with Bryant and Jordan. James is a recent addition too before Vini finally got to meet him this Christmas. We’d have to wait and see if his back tattoo will have a similar expansion.

One take at a time

I was 7 when I saw 'Space Jam' but didn't know till the third rewatch the lead actor is actually a living basketball legend. It was while studying journalism that my friend would go on about the Warriors from Golden State. Keen on athletes' personas outside their arenas, it was Stephen Curry's confidence and philanthropy that drew me to follow the news on NBA pros and explore sports media.
