As the Lakers crafted Kobe Bryant‘s bronze statue, memories of the legend were reinvigorated again. While some poured in their heartfelt tributes on social media, others had their unique way to celebrate the Black Mamba‘s legacy. $2.7 billion worth brand, Golden Goose, crafted a special line of shoes to pay homage to the Los Angeles Lakers legend. They even presented their customized token to Shaquille O’Neal‘s millionaire son, Myles.

Nothing could ever beat the thrill and excitement of wearing sneakers that pay homage to the 5x champion. Just days after promoting his new song release, Myles updated his fans about his precious gift. The white sneakers had details of Bryant’s Lakers statue embellished on it. While one side of the sneakers had the words ” We love you ” with a heart shape drawn on it, the other side also had more interesting details.

A purple ‘L’ with golden lines for Lakers’ is embossed on it. A specific date, ‘2.8.24’, is also engraved on the sneakers. Alongside the story, Myles wrote, “Thankyou @GoldenGoose 2/8/24.” The significance of the date commemorates the day the Los Angeles Lakers revealed Bryant’s 19-foot-tall bronze statue.

There’s another meaning to these numbers. While 8 and 24 were worn by Bryant, his daughter Gianna wore the number 2. Again on the front, Bryant’s jersey numbers, 8 and 24, are engraved inside a heart.

The Lakers had also organized another tribute by having the players wear the iconic Mamba uniforms again in their game against the Denver Nuggets on February 8. About the statue unveiled, Myles’ dad and Bryant’s former teammate also shared his opinion.

As the guests present at the event marveled at the statue and its impact, the tiny details, Bryant’s meaningful quotes, and the carefully chosen height and pose of the statue also captivated those tuning in through their TV screens. 

When asked about his feelings on the statue, O’Neal shared, “Man, again, beautiful statue, (Vanessa) said he’s gonna have three statues. That’s going to be a great joy to see.” He added, “I’m glad I had the opportunity to play with him. I definitely wouldn’t have got three in a row without him.”
