The Hurricanes just whirled over California Memorial Stadium in a close one-point victory over the California Golden Bears. As celebration hit after the game, Miami’s QB Cam Ward forgot where he was or what he was saying! He went on a live interview without realizing it and blurted out some slants.

Deion Sanders Jr. was quick to notice this gangster vibe and didn’t miss his chance to make a little joke about it. On his welloffforever Instagram account on October 6, he posted an edited video of Cam Ward’s oblivion as he said “S— boy!” for the world to hear. Coach Prime’s oldest son then dropped a hilarious caption saying, “Those late night games have boys turnt out here.”

Still, let’s excuse the distraction. Cam Ward just came off lucky in a losing game against their ACC opponent. The Hurricanes delivered an epic comeback from a 25-point deficit in the second half. The final score was sealed by the 22-year-old with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Arroyo for a close 39-38 win.

This isn’t the first close victory they had. In their last game against Virginia Tech, they had another lucky charm when they won the game 38-34 in a reversed call. But Cam Ward is aware of their shortcomings as he said, “We just can’t put ourselves in these situations to come back. That’s two games straight we had to do that. We have to lock in.” Still, just as he said, “An ugly win is better than a good loss.” And he still managed to make a late statement.

Cam Ward levels up in the fourth quarter

In the California game, Cam Ward completed 66 percent of his passes for 437 yards and two touchdowns. In the first half, he passed for 109 yards and didn’t start the second quarter on a good note either as he threw a Pick-6. But just in the fourth quarter alone, he led the Hurricanes in three touchdown drives for 238 yards to score 21 points. With this win, Miami remains one of the undefeated teams in their six games played so far. This leads them closer to a championship possibility.

Cam Ward recently opened up about his college football journey. See what it took the Washington State transfer to lead the nation in passing yards (2,380) and TD passes (20). That last game was a close call but they may not be able to enjoy that kind of luck in their next game against another ranked conference opponent No. 22 Louisville.
