The curious case of Florida Gators. Once hailed as one of the best, has now turned into probably the worst team in CFB. But who can you thank for that? Well, it’s Billy Napier, folks. Running on a 2-2 run, Napier ain’t having fun, and neither are the Gators’ fans. From one bad decision to another, Billy Napier has managed to bring down a 3x National Champs to their knees. But even though the fans have almost given up on the team and their chances of making it big this year; some celebrities have not.

Florida Gators took to X to share a clip of our beloved American rapper and singer, Post Malone. “Go Gators and f–k UCF. Let’s party,” Malone mentioned in the clip, with a huge smile on his face. The faith is there, but the team’s ability to stand tall and make Malone proud? Well, that part is questionable. UCF won’t be making this easy for Napier and his boys. Coming off of a disastrous loss against the Buffs, Knights HC Gus Malzahn is going to make sure that the team’s rush game manages to shine this time.

Also, if we check the injury report, things are not looking good for the Gators. While UCF will be losing out on their TE Jordan Davis (he is currently redshirting this year because of the Achilles injury he sustained off-season), the situation for Napier is worse.

Which Prospects should OSU target next?

Let Tony do the scouting, you just make the pick.

The main problem is that Napier is going to lose out on his WR. Eugene Wilson III has been out of the run since he sustained a meniscus injury during the Samford game. When the Gators went up against the Aggies, Wilson was on Game Time Decision. Now, as the boys prep for their game against the Knights, Napier still has not provided any concrete report regarding Wilson’s availability.

Ja’Keem Jackson and Aaron Gates, 2 defensive backs, could also be missing out. Jackson has been unavailable since the Samford game. His injury remains undisclosed, and his status is reported to be “out”. Gates, on the other hand, has been out since the Bulldogs game. Another undisclosed injury and listed as “out”. All of this is going to cost Napier, and at this point, it feels like the entire Billy Napier era is surely over.

Billy Napier is hanging by a thread

At this point, the question is, can Florida afford to fire Napier? Paul Finebaum had mentioned this on September 16th. “‘Can Florida afford to spend $26 million to fire Billy Napier?’” Finebaum had noted. If Florida fires Napier mid-season or even after the season is over, they will owe him $25.67 million.

That is not a small sum, but is the price worth it? Napier has done nothing but bring the reputation of the program down. From using an average QB like Graham Mertz over someone like DJ Lagway to benching a good player like Cormani McClain because he is “too small”.

One bad decision after another, and it is the team that’s suffering. The outcome of the showdown against the Knights ain’t clear, but Napier may be going to lose out on this one as well. Do let us know what you think could happen.
