After Bill Belichick and the Patriots parted ways, things haven’t been quite on the coaching side of the league. Recently, Nick Wright and his cohorts engaged with the idea of the veteran HC joining the Dallas Cowboys. But they found out that too many I’s and T’s must be dotted and crossed before that could come to fruition.
Later in the segment, the group of hosts on First Things First concluded that Belichick is still a hot commodity, and he can also do what Sean Payton did after Drew Brees decided to retire. Realistically, there are still slight chances that Belichick might return to the field once again.

Wright was talking about how Belichick is at his lowest in terms of his coaching career and his “stock” is going to go up for precisely that reason. He mentioned how, sooner or later, a team would have to hire a seasoned coach like Belichick. But Kevin Wildes had an idea that could resurrect Belichick’s career for good. He had a Sean Payton anecdote to share. Wildes said, “Sean Payton’s stock, Saints weren’t good. You know Saints were mediocre after Drew Brees left. Got on TV, you’re in people’s living room, and Bill Belichick at the podium giving rough answers we’re on in Cincinnati,” pointing out the difference between both coach’s demeanors.

The cohost later added, “And Bill Belichick that we even saw on McAfee yesterday smiling, cracking jokes, and once he starts to like open up on this and this and here’s what you could do, some owner is going to fall in love with him [Belichick].”
Only time will tell whether owners and other stakeholders around the NFL team find this new Bill Belichick warm enough to give him a chance. But coach Belichick looked as happy as he could be on the McAfee show. Maybe it’s because McAfee and Co. tried to shield the coach from all the bad rep trending about the coach.

The hosts of the show compared the situation with Belichick’s relationship with Tom Brady and how both would just deny any negative narrative that the media tried to spin about them. But The Dynasty made things a bit uncomfortable for the coach and Pats owner Robert Kraft, who funded the documentary, but claims to have no creative control over it.
Time will tell whether Belichick finds a job in the league or not. However, we sure can catch him on The Pat McAfee Show on the draft night. What’s your stance on Belichick? Do you think he’ll find a job soon?
