Charissa Thompson has seen more NFL action than most rookies by the time they hit year three. From the sidelines to the studio, she’s been the voice guiding fans through the chaos of Sundays, and for years, she did it under the FOX Sports banner. But contracts expire, just like championship windows, and when her time with FOX came to an end, the sports world had eyes on her next play.
Now, when someone exits a franchise, you expect the usual—farewell posts, maybe some nostalgic clips. But a rival network stepping in with a heartfelt gesture? That’s some next-level, subtle, level up… That’s exactly what happened when Amazon Prime Video’s TNF crew—the same team she now reps—gave Thompson a public shout-out alongside Taylor Rooks and Kaylee Hartung for International Women’s Day.
The IG caption read: “Celebrating the incredible women of #TNFonPrime on International Women’s Day!💙” Now, why it’s big? I mean, it’s not considering she’s an Amazon broadcaster now. But the bitterness between the two broadcasting companies is real.

Well, if you’ve been following the NFL broadcast landscape, you know Amazon’s TNF and FOX Sports haven’t exactly been passing the ball back and forth like friendly teammates. Amazon snatched exclusive TNF rights in 2023 with a $1 billion per year deal, shaking up the traditional TV dominance FOX had long enjoyed.
And yet, here they were, publicly celebrating a former FOX face. Classy move or strategic flex? Or maybe, nothing of sorts, just acknowledging their employees as it is.
Of course, FOX hasn’t exactly been sitting on the sidelines watching Amazon take over. They’ve added new elements to their broadcasts, even borrowing a little TNF flair—like the whole karaoke machine bit that’s somehow become a thing in both camps. This battle isn’t just about media rights; it’s about who can own the moment and keep fans locked in.
And let’s be real—Thompson is the kind of talent who makes any broadcast better. Whether it’s NFL Kickoff, Prime Video’s TNF, or even her brief stop in entertainment news… If not that, then catch her in her zone on the ‘Calm Down’ podcast with her bestie Erin Andrews.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Amazon's TNF shoutout to Charissa Thompson a genuine gesture or a strategic flex?
Have an interesting take?
Oh, by the way, Erin’s out of a contract with FOX. So, what’s next for them? Charissa is already killing it in her post-FOX era. Now she’s going to be there for her girlie to get in the groove.

Charissa Thompson’s going to be the girl’s girlie for Erin Andrews
Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson may have closed their FOX chapter, but they’re just getting started on a whole new game plan. Thompson’s already secured her TNF spot with Amazon, while Andrews? Well, she’s keeping everyone guessing. With her FOX contract in the rearview, she’s been showing up at NHL events, doubling down on her podcast, and making serious brand moves. But when she finally addressed her future, she made it clear: “Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up — and mine is.”
But instead of heading straight for another network, she and Charissa took a different route. Straight to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ‘She is Football’ weekend. This wasn’t just another sports summit. Oh, hell nah! It was a full-scale movement dedicated to getting more women into football.
And guess what? The duo were the center of attraction, recording a live podcast with special guest Tristan Wirfs and putting their voices behind a bigger cause. “We are here in Tampa for ‘She is Football’ with the Buccaneers. We are so excited, we are about to record a live podcast. And we are having a very special guest. We are going to have Tristan Wirfs…”

Of course, Erin being Erin, she made sure her clothing line WEAR had a moment too. She and Charissa hit up the team store to check out her jackets in the wild. As they put it: “We can not pass over a ‘WEAR by Erin Andrews’ jacket when we get to see them in store in person.” Football and fashion? She’s making sure women own both.
With ‘She is Football’ officially in the books, their podcast, and other gigs, you can bet Erin and Charissa are just going to blow off with whatever they do. And then, it won’t be a surprise to see them back in the studio together on TNF. That’d be some blow to FOX.
