While the Kansas City Chiefs remain consistently focused on improving their current standings (5-5 this season), the Mahomes family is preparing to celebrate the festive season with new rules. And Patrick Mahomes‘ mother, Randi, promised herself not to go overboard with gifts for her grandchildren this time, as she wishes to get something that directly helps in their healthy growth.

“It’s holiday prep at Granny’s house! When I used to shop for my grandbabies, I would just pick out anything. And now I really want it to be direct on their age because they’re so smart,” Randi said, in a video shared to her Instagram. “Grandi loves to see her grandkids learning. At this stage in life, I want all of my gifts to matter. Granny is so ready for the holidays.”
Grandi, as she refers to herself, is deeply committed to her role as grandmother and therefore always ensures her grandchildren are loved and cared for. The video was part of a sponsorship with Love Every Play, which is a company that makes Montessori-inspired, eco-friendly toys for children.

Christmas gifts aside, Randi is nothing if not a proud grandmother. She’s frequently shown off her three grandkids on social media, recently celebrating the arrival of Patrick and Brittany Mahomes’ daughter, Golden, by posting “Grandi x3” on social media when her third grandchild was born.
She also marked an end to her longtime event planning career so she could focus fully on being a grandmother. Besides, Randi also takes care of the kids during Mahomes’ big matches. Like during Super Bowl LIX (2025), when Randi took on “Super Bowl granny duty” in the suite, making the family’s gathering even more special. And when she’s not looking after her family, Randi Mahomes is taking on the great outdoors.

Randi Mahomes took on the steep and demanding Royal Arch Trail in Boulder, Colorado, hiking the route with her youngest daughter, Mia Randall. The energetic duo covered the 3.2-mile trail, climbing nearly 900 feet. The hike was adventurous enough, as the location is mainly known for rocky steps and sharp elevation changes. Excited about the hike, Patrick Mahomes’ mother was proud enough to mention that it was a first “real-deal” hike for her.

The Royal Arch Trail is known for its rugged terrain and tough elevation. This makes it a true physical challenge in the Colorado outdoors. While she now prepares to celebrate a jolly festive season, the presents that Granny packed for the QB’s children still remain a surprise.
