George Kittle has some praise for his upcoming rival, Chris Jones. The San Francisco 49ers are scheduled to square off against the Kansas City Chiefs on February 11 at a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl. Ahead of the game, Kittle shared some impressive qualities he sees in Jones, comparing him to Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

The last time the Niners met the Red Team in the 2020 Super Bowl, the Chiefs defeated San Francisco 31-20. Now, again, these two teams will be meeting each other in Super Bowl LVIII. Just nine days are left until the 58th Super Bowl. Ahead of it, in a recent pregame press conference of the 49ers, George Kittle appeared before the media to talk about the big event and the preparations. He was asked about his views on the Chiefs’ star player, Chris Jones, and how he sees him for the Super Bowl. Kittle said, “As the Niners, I don’t block him very often, maybe once in a while. I would just say he is a very dominant player, he’s incredibly physical, he’s huge, he’s very hard to block one-on-one.

He also highlighted the need to account for Jones with multiple blockers, creating opportunities for other players. Kittle praised Jones as one of the best in the NFL, saying, “He’s been like a Top 10 on the NFL 100 multiple years in a row,” comparing him to Rams DT Aaron Donald. Kittle said, “I think he’s like you have to treat him kind of like Aaron Donald like he could wreck any drive, you just say hey we’re going to leave him one-on-one, and then all of a sudden he swims through tackles, running back in the back field for minus five. You’re looking at second and 15, and it ruins the drive.”

Praising Jones by comparing him with Donald, Kittle emphasized his ability to disrupt plays and potentially wreck a drive if not adequately addressed. Moreover, in a different interview, Kittle also praised Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, besides Jones. He acknowledged that these three key players of the Chiefs have better connections on the field than other players in the NFL.

Meanwhile, it’s not only Kittle who praised these stars; his upcoming competitor, Kelce, too, shared his views on the 49ers TE.

I resonate with movies, exploring places, and not missing a single NFL game. If the NFL is my love, then I have to say, ‘my love’ found me! I understand what it takes to be an athlete and perform at such a high level since I too have tasted small-time success in sports. As an athlete, I have bagged the coveted district-level championship in track events.
