While he is still managing his injury, fans are waiting for his return in the near future.

When will Cam Skattebo be back?

Cam Skattebo is on track to return for the Giants’ 2026 training camp after suffering a tough ankle injury that required surgery. His recovery is expected to take around four to six months, with doctors taking a careful, step-by-step approach. After close examinations, the injury that he suffered wasn’t just a torn ACL.

As per the NFL’s Ian Rapoport, Skattebo also had a fibula fracture and a deltoid ligament rupture. Because of this, he won’t be putting any weight on the leg for the first six weeks, followed by a heavy stretch of rehab and physical therapy. If everything goes smoothly, Skattebo should be cleared for full footback drills by the offseason.

“NYG expects him back for the offseason program,” as reported by NFL Ian Rapoport.

The Giants are staying cautiously optimistic about seeing him back to full strength next season, as he was really making serious noise with his performance this season. In 8 games, he logged 101 carries for 410 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per attempt with five touchdowns. By week 8, Skattebo had already emerged as the top NFL rookie in both yards from scrimmage (587) and total touchdowns. Having such an immense role for the team has attracted many viewers to his streams.

Therefore, while the rookie awaits his recovery, fans will still find a reason to be entertained by Skattebo.
