It was an early finish for 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw on Sunday. The San Francisco 49ers were facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. However, during the third quarter, the game took a turning point when a likely dispute broke out on the field between the players, including Greenlaw.

The viral video of the incident is drawing several criticisms and hatred for the linebacker. However, well-known American sports columnist and commentator Skip Bayless believes that Greenlaw didn’t do anything wrong. He even denied the alleged punching episode by Greenlaw in the viral video, going against the final decision of the game.

During the game, when Niners LB Dre Greenlaw and Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith got into an ugly fight, Eagles head of security Dom DiSandro came in between to stop. As per the viral video, Greenlaw could be seen punching DiSandro and arguing with him. Consequently, Greenlaw was ejected from Sunday’s game. Although the 26-year-old Niners linebacker received online backlashes from many, Skip Bayless decided to back his favorite San Francisco’s best defenders.

Giving his opinion on the matter, Bayless took to Twitter and wrote, “Greenlaw did NOT punch the security guy … who pushed him.” He continued on Greenlaw’s early disqualification, saying, “No reason to eject one of SF’s best defenders. I didn’t even think Greenlaw’s takedown of DSmith was all that bad. I mean, he has to get him down.” However, this didn’t sit well with the football enthusiasts and many social media users, showed their anger at the commentator.
