On Christmas Eve, the Jacksonville Jaguars will face the ultimate test that will determine whether they will make it to the playoffs or not. The Jaguars went against the Baltimore Ravens with a laundry list of injuries and, in the end, lost to the AFC leaders with a 23-7 score. But things have not improved for them since, and they may be missing key players in the game against the 7-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jacksonville Jaguars could miss out on Lawrence

Head coach, Doug Pederson, said that star wideout Zay Jones’ hamstring injury looked “bad on the field”. Jones had caught 5 of 8 receptions and had gone for 59 yards before a hamstring injury brought him down during the second half of the Sunday loss to the Ravens. This has added to Jones’ woes as he was already dealing with a knee injury when he walked into the Ravens game.
This was from late last night (or early this morning) but Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said of WR Zay Jones' hamstring injury: "It looked bad on the field." So Jaguars could go to Tampa missing QB, two WRs, S, CB in what is essentially a must-win game.

The other highlight of the report was Trevor Lawrence, who suffered an ankle injury in the Cincinnati Bengals game. While he had been listed as “questionable” for the Ravens game as well, he did end up playing. He recorded 264 passing yards and 1 touchdown and completed 25 of his 43 passes.

Crippling injuries for the Jaguars’ defense
In the Cleveland Browns game, Safety Andre Cisco had injured himself, while Cornerback Tyson Campbell was injured in the same game as QB Lawrence. Campbell has already been sidelined for five games this season and second-year CB Montaric Brown had to step in for him. Without these two key defensive players, the team might be in for a tough fight against the high-powered Bucs offense.
Wide receiver Christian Kirk, on the other hand, suffered a core muscle injury in the Bengals game which saw him carted off in the first quarter itself. Kirk has led the team with 787 receiving yards on 57 receptions in the first 12 games that he played. He also has 3 TD receptions. Unfortunately for Kirk, the injury is severe enough that he has been ruled out for four games and will only return in the regular season finale.

Injuries proved to be the major reason why the Jaguars fumbled in the Ravens game. If they lose the Bucs game as well, they might also lose out on a playoff berth. Jaguars fans are hoping that it doesn’t come to that.
