The year was 2018 when the Philadelphia Eagles broke through and claimed their first-ever Super Bowl. Though it takes an entire roster to win the championship, it was the offensive line that contributed the most. Now, years later, Jason Kelce’s words after that famous victory could be haunting him.

As the Eagles defeated the New England Patriots, they overcame their perennial underdog status. From there on, they behaved and played like the favorites. However, their epic collapse last season could also be attributed to the words of the Eagles’ center, Kelce, six years ago.

The Super Bowl winner Kelce retired after an embarrassing season for the Eagles. His partner in the offensive line working as a fellow blocker, Lane Johnson, would also be missing the days when the duo haunted the opposition quarterbacks. “I would be really scared if, like, everybody thought we had everything figured out”, said Kelce after the Super Bowl win.

While the 7X Pro Bowler is a definite future Hall-of-Famer, his last season will always be remembered as a mess. The Eagles maintained a 5-game winning streak twice in the season, but towards the end, folded!

The Eagles lost 6 of their last seven games, including the wildcard playoff matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During that losing streak, head coach Nick Sirianni demoted their DC as well. Signifying things not being well off the field. And on the field, fans could witness the lack of hunger, especially from their underdog days.
