The Green Bay Packers‘ 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders on Thursday came with a price. With 11 more minutes in the game, Jayden Reed hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass and landed hard on his right side with Commanders’ safety Quan Martin falling over him. Clearly in pain, Reed made it to the locker room. Later on Tuesday, Reed disclosed through an Instagram post that he had undergone surgery for a broken clavicle and fracture in his left foot. But what followed this announcement lightened the seriousness of his surgery news.

Jayden Reed went live on his Instagram, and it looked like he was still under the influence of some medication. Reed was still in bed, and in a dazed tone, he said, “Packers to the Bowl, bruh,”. Reed might not even remember what he said, but Packers fans made sure the Instagram live will live forever on the internet. The clip went so viral that a reporter even asked Packers’ QB Jordan Love what he thinks about the video.
“No comment, no comment, I am glad he is doing all right,” Love said with a smile. Before that, the reporter asked whether Love had seen the video, to which Love replied, “I saw that”. The Packers QB might be smiling, but he knows that he will have to move forward in the season without his trusted WR. Till then, he will have to live with the good message that Reed is doing fine, as it seems from his Instagram live.

Although Reed came live on Instagram, it looked like someone else had done it for him, as Reed still looked half-awake. During the live session, Reed also thanked everyone, including his fans. “I am good, thank you for the prayers bro.” After the surgery, Reed is expected to miss almost 6-8 weeks of the season. Although Reed underwent surgery for both a broken clavicle and a fracture in his left foot, the latter one had occurred way before the Packers’ match against the Commanders.

Reed suffered a foot injury in the preseason and was seen wearing a walking boot before the play. He even missed multiple training sessions due to the foot injury, but went on to play in the NFL season. It looked like Reed was going to address his foot injury later, but fate had other plans for him. As he was going to miss a significant amount of time because of his latest injury, he decided to address his foot injury as well and underwent surgery for it. Now that Reed will be out of the field for a long time, the Packers will have to rethink their strategy.

The Packers’ depth at receiver will be tested
With Christian Watson already out because of a torn ACL during the regular season and now Reed out for 6-8 weeks, the Packers will have to rethink their receiver strategy. Although Reed’s clavicle injury was unexpected, his foot injury was going to be a nagging problem for the entire season, and the Packers must have prepared for it.
