The Green Bay Packers made headlines after acquiring Micah Parsons in late August 2025. Since then, it has refused to go under the radar with the Packers’ Week 1 win against the Detroit Lions, followed by a 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 2, much to fans’ excitement. But there’s one player from the team who hasn’t got the respect and attention that he deserves after such incredible wins, as per Packers running back Josh Jacobs.

And it’s the Packers QB Jordan Love. In conversation with the reporters after the win over the Commanders, Jacobs reiterated his previous words that Love should be recognized for the work he has been putting in and how he has made long strides. “I don’t think he gets enough respect, and every week he’s been coming out and playing better and better. To see the way he’s in the pocket, he’s poised, and he’s great. Great timing with the receivers, and he’s making some plays,” he said as Steve Wyche reported.

Perhaps, after Love’s dominance against the Commanders in Week 2, there won’t be much doubt about Jacobs’ words. The QB came out strong, securing an 11-point lead by halftime. He completed 292 passing yards and two touchdowns, with 200 of those yards coming in the first half alone. Love also impressed in the game against the Lions, completing 16 of 22 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns.

It seems he has already proven himself worthy of being considered among the league’s best quarterbacks. Or maybe enough for the critics to reconsider their decision to label him outside the top 10 in the quarterback rankings? Back in July, ESPN released its quarterback rankings, based on input from coaches and executives across the league. Jordan was not included in the top 10.

Many argued, however, that his 3.5% turnover-worthy play rate under pressure made a strong case for him. This is the second-lowest posted by a Packers quarterback in the last 10 seasons, even when including Aaron Rodgers. Again, Henry McKenna’s quarterback list placed Love at No. 13, ranking him behind JJ McCarthy, who at the time had not yet played his first NFL game.

Now, when healthy, the player has consistently shown glimpses of his best football. If he maintains that level, he has a chance to improve his standing in future rankings. Moreover, he will have all the help he needs from Parsons.

Teammates have spoken about Micah Parsons’ impact on the team

After an exceptional debut, Parsons was able to perform at an elite level despite being limited to 29 snaps. He was able to carry the momentum into his second game. He played 44 snaps this time and pressured Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels six times on 32 pass rushes. On those snaps, Daniels went 1-of-3 for 9 yards, with two scrambles for another 9, and was sacked once. Overall, Daniels was sacked four times. This is the impact that the Packers needed.

While Parsons admitted that this isn’t the best defense yet, he added that this defense will help the Packers win games. He is confident about it. And so is cornerback Keisean Nixon, who said, “Yeah, we got Micah Parsons.” This is the first time since 1995 that the team has given up fewer than 250 yards in the first two games, which explains all the hype around the DE. After all, it was a huge change for the team. And the Packers players are equally excited about it.

Packers receiver Malik Heath said, “Getting Micah over here, it changed up their whole personality. They’re going to get it. They’ve been running to the ball, but now, like, they’re on a whole different level. I feel like we’ve got the best defense in the league as of right now.”

Heath further talked about his confidence in the defensive line, saying, “And I’ll go to war with any last one of them on that defensive side, especially the D-line. That D-line is going to set the tone; everybody else is going to follow.”

As Parsons said, defense wins championships, and if this is an indication, the team is headed for an interesting season.
