Never one to miss his chance, Terry Bradshaw has multiple stories to tell when an opportunity knocks. In fact, for the NFL legend who has a one-man show in a theatre in Branson, Missouri, humor and storytelling became his way of influencing sports commentary. However, he doesn’t get to complete them every time. Something similar happened to the 77-year-old on this week’s FOX NFL Kickoff when he joined Charissa Thompson, Charles Woodson, and Julian Edelman’s substitute, Drew Brees.

In the segment #askdrew, the former Saints quarterback, Brees, was listing his Mount Rushmore of QBs. His picks? Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Doug Flutie. Once he was done explaining his surprising last pick, Bradshaw pointed towards Brees and began telling a story, “I’m gonna tell you, this guy, I used to… I told them earlier…” The St. Jo, Texas native had barely started telling the story when Thompson, with her hand around his shoulders, interrupted him and announced, “We have to go to break. We’ll hear about this conversation…”

Before she could finish, the four-time Super Bowl champion took the spotlight as he humorously claimed, “Oh, we have to go to break? I never get to… I finally get to talk football, and you go to break.” While it may sound heated, the act was clearly a planned stunt as the entire crew broke into laughter. Ironically enough, barely a few minutes before getting shut down, Bradshaw had told Thompson, “At least you’re nice to me.”

That time, Thompson started talking about Bradshaw’s horse winning the Breeders’ Cup and how Drew Brees could catch the NFL legend on his ranch. When Bradshaw invited Brees, the host chimed in and said, “Well, you’re invited over to our show anytime. We’d love to have you.” For the Hall of Famer, that was enough to complain about his Fox crew – Curt Menafee, Rob Gronkowski, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan – that they were always mean to him. At the end of the segment, though, Bradshaw might have different feelings towards Thompson, too.

Although it was all laughter in the FOX Studio, Bradshaw had a rather straightforward view on one of the hot topics in the NFL today: Tom Brady’s dual role.

Last week, Brady was seen in the Raiders’ coaching booth during a game, wearing a headset. This sparked questions about whether he was helping coach the team during the game. Fans got even more interested when they found out that the ex-QB has been meeting with the Raiders’ OC, Chip Kelly, to discuss game plans. The controversy intensified when former Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said it would be ‘foolish’ not to think that Brady isn’t sharing information.

“It’s not hard for him to watch a few plays on a Friday practice or hear things in a production meeting and think, ‘Hmm,’ and have tidbits. And it would be foolish to think that he’s not going to share that with the Raiders,” he asserted. But when the Hall of Famer was asked about his thoughts on the same by TMZ, he dismissed the notion. “It is, I suppose, different from anything we’ve ever seen,” he admitted before adding, “I don’t have a problem with it.”

Pierce’s remarks may be overlooked, with some thinking he’s holding a grudge against the clubhouse. But Brady certainly has involvement with the team as an owner. If we were to listen to Bradshaw, maybe this is simply a professional being a professional and taking care of two businesses at once. What do you think?
